about
The misdirect.
At heart, I am a comedy writer.
Don’t be mislead by the majority of serious topics I have covered. That is more a result of circumstance and luck than anything.
I go where the story takes me and listen for the humanity. (This process has taken me to some interesting places.)
As a young man graduating college, I set out to write the great American novel. (Act 1: comedy.)
I fell in love with the paycheck of advertising. (Wait for the punchline.)
I’ve been executive creative director, agency president, director of marketing and communications at one of the world’s largest companies, and film writer/director of quirky little stories.
I currently lead a small group called spring that has worked on all platforms (digital, social, events) for brands like PwC, Johnson & Johnson, as well as smaller companies in fashion, financial services and real estate.
Working in many different industries, collaborating with great talent and a more than a few unique characters has given me perspective, courage and some good stories.
But I long to write and/or direct the film/social campaign that brings the big belly laugh.
I have it in me.
I’m an optimist.
